By now, you've heard the sad news: Steve Jobs, the visionary founder of Apple Inc., has died at the early age of 56. Appropriately enough, word of his passing has spread far and wide across the Web, thanks in large to technology he pioneered.

Among those commenting on Jobs' death are esteemed members of the comic book community, from "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman, to Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. Their remembrances, and others, are past the jump.

@JoeQuesada It's rare that the loss of one person can truly leave the world a much emptier place, RIP Steve Jobs.

-Joe Quesada, Artist ("Spider-Man: One More Day")

@JoeKellyMOA Apple. Pixar. The whole ifamily. That's a hell of a body of work. Good job, Steve. RIP.

-Joe Kelly, Writer ("I Kill Giants")

@pattonoswalt RIP Steve Jobs. Closest thing we had to Tony Stark.

-Patton Oswalt, Writer ("Serenity: Float Out")

@RobertKirkman Steve Jobs... damn. That really blows. It sucks to lose such a brilliant guy so early.

@gregpak Steve Jobs directly affected my creative career at every key step. He helped me think and write better with the Mac starting in 1985...

@CullyHamner Not a mac guy per se, but the #SteveJobs influence on my life is undeniable: Thx for iPad, iPod, iTunes, & most of all, Pixar. RIP.

-Cully Hamner, Artist ("Red")

@ThatKevinSmith Our parents had JFK, we had Steve Jobs. Edison gave us electricity, Jobs gave us the Jetsons in real life. We lost an icon today. Mourn him.

@Supajoe Thanks for everything, Steve. RIP.

-Joe Eisma, Artist ("Morning Glories")

@neilhimself Thank you Steve Jobs. You left the world better, and more interesting, than you found it.
