It's virtually impossible to imagine any actor not wanting to be a part of Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie, but apparently, one cast member had to abandon Gotham City in favor of pursuing his dreams as a male stripper.
Alright, it's not as bizarre as it sounds: "CSI: Miami" actor Adam Rodriguez, who was previously cast in "The Dark Knight Rises" in an unspecified role, told Celebuzz in a new interview that he had to drop out of the DC Comics adaptation due to scheduling conflicts with "Magic Mike," the star-studded stripper movie from Steven Soderbergh.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't able to work on Dark Knight because it directly conflicted with the shooting schedule for Magic Mike," said Rodriguez. "There was no way around it. I'm sure it would have been an incredible experience, but I know it worked out for the best."
Little to nothing has been released about the role Rodriguez would have played, except for the fact that he was considered only a small part in the grander scheme of "Dark Knight Rises." That in mind, losing Rodriguez is hardly a big blow, and if his role in "Magic Mike" has a bit more meat to it, he probably made the right call. Still, as a die-hard "Dark Knight" dork, it's hard for me to wrap my head around anyone not wanting to be part of that project, no matter how insignificant the role.
