NEW YORK – Betty White will star in an opener for "ESPN's Monday Night Football" season finale, the network said Wednesday.
The 89-year-old actress, from the TV Land comedy "Hot in Cleveland," will appear in a short sketch called "A White Christmas."
The cable channel was looking for a "warm grandmotherly type" and White fit the bill.
The segment will air Monday at 8:30pm ET before the Atlanta Falcons take on the New Orleans Saints.
After the holidays, White will celebrate her 90th birthday and she will be feted by Hollywood stars in an NBC special to air January 16.
Her new reality series "Off Their Rockers," which is dubbed as a "Punk'd" for senior citizens, will also be premiering after her televised special.
