When it comes to videogame-related news, there's two times a year when things slow to an absolute crawl. The first being the middle of summer, and the second being – well, this whole week. Of course, after the New Year arrives, we're sure to get inundated with the hubbub of things to come, but in the meantime news about avatar clothes will have to suffice.
Just before the holiday, Marvel announced the release of some superhero-themed shirts, props, and other paraphernalia for the Xbox Live avatar marketplace. The good news? You can finally adorn your digital doppelganger with giant Hulk hands.
Besides the Hulk mitts, there's a Spider-Man shirt, a Captain America shirt, and a Hulk shirt. Also available is a fairly cool Captain America shield and Spider-Man's web shooters. Each shirt is 80 Microsoft points, while the props will cost you 240 each. Fairly standard pricing, in line with other items on the avatar store.
While the shirts and assorted accessories are nice, I'm left wishing Marvel released full costumes. Putting on a Hulk shirt is great, but dressing in full costume is even better. Instead, I suppose you can imagine that just your hands are angry. You don't want to make my hands angry; you wouldn't like my hands when they're angry.
Now if some entrepreneurial Xbox Indie Games developer could just create an avatar game that allows me to beat my Xbox Live friends mercilessly with the Hulk gloves, we would be in business.
What do you think of these Marvel avatar items? Will you download them? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
