Tom Hardy Thinks 'Dark Knight Rises' Bane Parodies Are 'Brilliant'

Bookmark and Share

Many people are worried about how Tom Hardy will sound as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises." Tom Hardy is not one of those people.

The actor spoke with MTV News recently on the red carpet for "This Means War," his new romantic comedy about two secret agent pals who turn against each other when they both fall for the same woman. In that movie, needless to say, you can understand Hardy with perfect clarity. That might not be the case when the third and final "Dark Knight" movie hits theaters in just a few months, but Hardy himself isn't worried even in the slightest.

"Not at all," he told MTV when asked if he was worried about the finished product of Bane's voice. "I trust Christopher Nolan implicitly. I'm not worried at all about people understanding him mumbling away."

But here's something Hardy does share with many of his fans: endless amusement over the various Bane parodies out there on the web. From @MuffledBane to parody videos, countless creative fans have taken their own shots at Bane's often indecipherable voice. And guess what? Hardy thinks it's hilarious, too!

"I have seen some brilliant stuff online about [my mumbling]," he said with a laugh, before imitating one particularly politically incorrect line: "'Mmm ... Batman doesn't beat up retards!' Which I thought was very funny. I enjoyed that."

Is Bane's voice growing on you? Do you appreciation Hardy's sense of humor on the matter? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
