"The Walking Dead" has a lot of stuff going for it. It's got great acting, a tense story and some really impressive special effects that, together, make it a show we here at Splash Page just can't get enough of.
A new video released from AMC highlights some of the coolest special effects from the season, and shows how those scenes all came together. That deer scene with Carl from early season two? Actually a green screen. The well zombie? Really just some gross special effects. And that awesome zombie pack on the highway back in episode one of season two? Those walkers were actually just some CGI implants.
Check it all out in the video below.
It's obvious that a lot of time and effort goes into making the zombies on "The Walking Dead" seem as real as possible. It's why Bicycle Girl was so terrifying back in season one, and it's why every walker seen on the show is still absolutely terrifying. It's no surprise that the series won the Emmy last year for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup and was nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects.
With "The Walking Dead" back from its midseason break, fans can expect plenty more of the same great effects seen in this video. Season one went out with a bang (pun intended) and I certainly hope season two's finale can stand up to that high bar.
