Who Should Spider-Man Fight After The Lizard?

The newest "Amazing Spider-Man" trailer looks... well, amazing. It gives us a better feel for what the movie will be about and also what villain our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be up against this time around.

Die-hard fans have long been waiting for the one-armed Dr. Curt Connors to accidentally transform himself into the reptilian rogue known only as The Lizard. And if this movie does as well as we hope, it could mean we're in for a slew of new Spider-Man films in the next couple of years. Which means more awesome villains for Spidey to fight! Excelsior!

Here's my list of the top five Spider-Man villains that deserve some screen time.

» Electro: Max Dillon, a former electrical engineer, gained the ability to control all things electric after being struck by lightning. Now he uses those powers for evil as one of Spider-Man's most formidable adversaries. Even the slightest touch from Electro can kill a man instantaneously. And don't you dare comment on his outdated costume. It could be the last mistake you'll ever make.

» Mysterio: Quentin Beck, professional stunt man and special effects genius, turned to a life of crime after realizing that his career of choice was a dead-end job. Utilizing his expertise in optical illusions, Beck is now one of the most mysterious and intriguing supervillains in Spidey's rogues gallery. Also, he has the ability to come back from the dead. Or does he... ?

» Kraven the Hunter: Sergei Kravinoff lives for the thrill of the hunt and won't rest until he's killed the most dangerous game: Spider-Man. By regularly ingesting a potion made from several unknown jungle herbs, Kraven is endowed with enhanced strength and speed making him the apex predator. Unlike most hunters, Kraven refuses to use guns. Instead, he prefers to kill his prey with his bare hands. Knives are cool too.

» Jackal: This crazed jackal/man hybrid used to be a professor of biology, at Empire State University, that went by the name Miles Warren. In fact, both Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy were in his class. The Jackal is responsible for one of the most controversial story arcs in comic book history, the Clone Saga. What makes him such a threat is that he knows all of Peter Parker's most intimate secrets. After all, he's cloned him practically a hundred times.

» Carnage: What do you get when you attach a deadly alien symbiote to an already deadly serial killer? Cletus Kasady shared a cell with Eddie Brock, a.k.a. Venom, at Ryker's Island. During their time together, Brock's symbiote assexually created an offspring that bonded with Kasady. The result is Carnage, a monster in the truest sense of the word. With all of Venom's powers and none of the inhibitions, Carnage is truly a force to be reckoned with.
