Charlie Sheen 'honored' to have Kathy Bates portray his character's ghost on 'Two and a Half Men'

"Tiger blood" swilling celeb Charlie Sheen told friends he was "honored" that Oscar winner Kathy Bates will play the ghost of his "Two and a Half Men" character, Charlie Harper, in a future episode.

Earlier this week, CBS announced that Harper's ghost will make a cameo appearance in the rebooted comedy April 30, but with Bates -- not Sheen -- reprising the role of the hell-raising Casanova.

The move was deemed to be a kick in the teeth from creator Chuck Lorre, who fired Sheen after his sensational meltdown left "Men" teetering on the brink of the abyss -- also known as being "on hiatus."

But if that was the case, it appears to have backfired.

Sheen told friends he admires Bates as she is "an incredibly funny, talented actress" and is "honored" that they share a connection, TMZ reported Thursday.

Harper met a horrific death when he "fell" in front of a Paris subway train while on his honeymoon with Rose -- his longtime stalker.

His funeral kicked off the ninth season premiere, which saw the arrival of Ashton Kutcher as internet billionaire Walden Schmidt.

Harper's ghost will appear when Sheen's on-screen brother Alan -- played by the Emmy-winning Jon Cryer -- has a minor heart attack and is hospitalized, CBS said.

Despite the apparent snub by Lorre, Sheen is still in demand. The premiere date for his new FX sitcom, "Anger Management," was set for June 28.

FX is owned by News Corp., which also owns NewsCore.
