See, what did I say? The Green Arrow casting process is far from finished!
Well, maybe not far from finished — it's got to end sometime soon, with filming on the pilot set to begin shortly — but it's certainly not over. Case in point: actor Colin Salmon, a very familiar face for genre fans, has just landed a role on the show.
Variety reports that Salmon will star in The CW's "Arrow" pilot as "Walter Steele, a former business associate of the late Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Moira Queen following her husband's death at sea and the disappearance of her son, Oliver."
It's unclear if Salmon will be a series regular as Steele, a recurring character, or just a one-off appearance. Either way, the actor's involvement lends some geek gravitas to "Arrow." Fans know Salmon well for his roles in the first "Resident Evil" film, the James Bond franchise and "Punisher: War Zone," among others. He's also held guest starring roles on "Doctor Who," and has often been championed by fans to eventually take on the role of the Time Lord. In other words, he's more than welcome aboard the good ship Green Arrow!
Salmon joins a cast that includes Stephen Amell as as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah "Laurel" Lance, and Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn.
