Game of Thrones

If you're a fan of Zenescope Entertainment's comic series "Grimm Fairy Tales," you're going to love this. The company has partnered with Titmouse animation studio and director Jon Schnepp (the guy behind "Metalocalypse" and "The Venture Bros.") to launch a Kickstarter campaign thats end goal is an animated series based off the graphic novel, and yesterday they announced that "Game of Thrones's" Lena Headey is going to be voicing leading lady Sela Mathers.

Sela Mathers is a professor of literature who can affect peoples' lives by teaching them lessons in morality through fairy tales. But people often ignore her advice and ruin their lives anyways, so she starts using her ability to dole out justice instead. Headey will join the previously announced Briana Evigan in the cast.

"We couldn't be who we are without fairy tales," Headey said in the YouTube announcement of the casting. "They're very important."

So far Zenescope has had more than $ 60,000 pledged to their Kickstarter campaign. The full goal is $ 175,000, but the drive is running through May 1 at 6 p.m. EST. The project will only be funded if Zenescope reaches its goal, so hopefully Headey's involvement garners some interest with fans.

Judging by the video (posted above) that Zenescope has on its Kickstarter page, they've actually developed a good portion of the show already. The video includes a tease of what the cartoon will look like and (unsurprisingly) it looks a lot like "Metalocalypse." And the idea of "Metalocalypse" meets "Grimm Fairy Tales" almost gets us as excited for the forthcoming project as Headey's involvement does.
