Christian Bale's days as Batman are behind him, and apparently, he has his pick for the next man to assume the Dark Knight's cape and cowl: Greendale Community College's very own Abed Nadir.
On last night's episode of "Community," titled "Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism," the hilarious Danny Pudi once again delivered his spot-on impression of Bale's Batman, and the world is better off for it. In the episode, Abed receives his long awaited $ 299 collector's edition of "The Dark Knight," complete with exclusive commentary from the cast and crew and even a ringing endorsement on the box from Bale himself: "Abed is Batman now."
But things take an expectedly dark (and wonderful) turn when Annie (Alison Brie) accidentally steps on and shatters Abed's prized "Dark Knight" collection. Instead of owning up to her mistake, Annie makes it look like Abed's apartment was broken into, with his copy of "Dark Knight" destroyed in the process. Suspecting his landlord Rick of committing the crime, Abed does the only thing that makes sense—to him at least—and goes on the case, Batman-style.
"The police are powerless. I must take justice into my own hands," Abed growls in his best Bale voice. "Men like Rick operate above the law. But there's something else above the law: Bats… and me!"
Needless to say, a whole lot of hilarity ensues, but don't take our word for it. You can watch the whole episode for yourself right now:
