Some believe 2012 to be the Year of the Dragon. Comic book fans know better: 2012 is the Year of the Bat, made clear by the arrival of "The Dark Knight Rises," Christopher Nolan's third and final film set in Gotham City, this coming July.
But there seems to be some confusion, as one inventive fan has identified Nolan's Batman finale as belonging in the Year of the Lion — or the "Lion King," at least.
The Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex gave joy to the geek world one last time before 2011 gave way to 2012 by pointing out an awesome parody that juxtaposes the audio from the recent "Dark Knight Rises" trailer with footage from Disney's classic "The Lion King." The results are both hilarious and impressively spot-on. Be prepared for the madness past the jump...
While we're on the topic of "Lion King" and "Dark Knight" mash-ups, I can't be the only person out there thinking the whole Bane's-dialogue problem could be rectified by subbing in Jeremy Irons' voice, right? Because I'd totally watch that movie.
Tell us what you think of the parody in the comments section and on Twitter!
