Sylvester Stallone's 'Bullet To The Head' Pulled From Release Schedule

Sylvester Stallone

It turns out that Sylvester Stallone's "Bullet to the Head" won't be hitting theaters on April 13 after all. That weekend is stacked with big releases like "The Three Stooges" and "The Cabin in the Woods," so apparently Warner Bros has chosen to pull "Bullet" from that day and have it face off against some other competitors. The only question is when.

Unfortunately, that's a question that does not yet have an answer. Deadline had the news that Warner Bros has pulled "Bullet to the Head" from its release schedule, but gives no time frame for when it will return. Hopefully it will get another weekend around then -- perhaps April 20, where its only competition would be "The Lucky One" and "Lockout" -- but "Bullet" could always get bumped to way later in the year, or even beyond.

The movie is based on the French graphic novel of the same name, which was written by comic book creator Matz. "48 Hrs." and "Last Man Standing" writer/director Walter Hill worked on the script for the movie (which was written by "The Messengers" scribe Alessandro Camon) and also directed it. "Bullet to the Head" has a pretty impressive cast, including Stallone, Jason Momoa and Christian Slater.

"Bullet" tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) who helps a police officer kill the people who killed their partners. Slater will play a handler while Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play the villain role. His character takes advantage of the poverty-stricken parts of post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans.
