If yesterday's look at Earth's mightiest heroes brought you overwhelming joy, today brings another dose of goodness in new behind-the-scenes stills of director Joss Whedon all over the "Avengers" set. Just in time for Whedonverse favorite Nathan Fillion's birthday, too!

Since the announcement that Whedon was in fact directing "Avengers," fans have been itching to see how his direction would pan out. But fans weren't the only ones pleased by the choice of director. Whedon has a huge support system in the heroes themselves. Last summer, star Chris Evans himself told MTV News that Whedon is "unbelievable."

"He's so clever. He lives in the world of comic books, so he has in his head an amazing story already mapped out," said Evans. "When it comes to directing actors and understanding dialogue, he's an incredibly talented writer."

Chris Hemsworth also gave kudos to Whedon when he told MTV News that the script is "massive."

"Everything about it was like, 'Oh my god.' I said to Joss, I said, 'I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing, but I'm excited to be onboard."

We're excited to finally see the script in action in May, but while we wait we can preview a behind-the-scenes look at Whedon directing Nick Fury, Thor, Bruce Banner and Captain America in these six photos released by Yahoo! Movies.
