Ever since Disney first announced that they would be purchasing Marvel, we've been speculating as to how the unavoidable crossovers would manifest themselves. Would there one day be a "Beauty and the Hulk"? Could we smell an Avengers cartoon musical in our future?
The answer to all of those questions (at least as of now) is "no". And it turns out that the reality of the acquisition and subsequent crossovers is actually much cooler than anything we could have imagined.
Much like Disney did when "Tron: Legacy" came out, Walt Disney World has announced that one of Magic Kingdom's Monorails is going to be receiving an "Avengers"-themed wrap (concept art shown above).
As if we needed any more excuses to go to the happiest place on Earth...
The theme park's blog announced that the Monorail is currently undergoing the change, and should start running soon. As most of you probably already realized, the "Avengers" wrap is meant as a tie-in to the movie's May 4 release date.
Hopefully this foretells more Disney World/Marvel crossovers in the future. Sure, Universal Orlando sort of has that covered, but we would love to have a 3D experience with the actors from "The Avengers" similar with what Universal was able to do with the "Harry Potter" franchise. Besides, who wouldn't want to take a photo op with the Hulk while wearing Mickey Mouse ears?
