Judging by everything we've heard about "Man of Steel," Zack Snyder's latest directorial effort is going to be awesome.
In a recent interview with ShockYa, star Ayelet Zurer said just that. The "Angels & Demons" star plays Lara Lor Man, the birth mother of Superman, in the upcoming flick, and she couldn't stop gushing about what a great job she thinks Snyder did with the film.
"I think it's going to be an awesome movie, really. I loved Zack. I think he's a very cool and creative director, and I think the executive producers who developed the project are really on top of it because it's a major movie and they've invested so much in it -- not just money, but time. So I think the edginess of the direction that Zack took is something that's really going to pay off," Zurer said.
As for the actual scenes she filmed, Zurer seemed to be more impressed by her costumes than she was by her onscreen husband, Russell Crowe.
"I have some scenes with Russell Crowe. And I love the costumes," she said. "I would steal one if I could. I don't know if I'd have anywhere to go in it, but they're nice, and overall it was such nice, nice work."
We have seen many, many variations of Lara Lor Man's Kryptonian outfits in the past, so it will be interesting to see which route Snyder goes in "Man of Steel." Judging by what we've seen of the movie so far, our guess is it will keep with the film's dark and gritty style. Hopefully Lara will be reminiscent of Lena Headey's "300" character Queen Gorgo. She had some serious fashion sense and was kick ass to boot.
"Man of Steel" is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2013.
