When Loki Met The Avengers: Predicting Mischief

In a recent interview with Tom Hiddleston, who will be reprising his role as Loki in the upcoming "Avengers" movie, the English actor made it a point to mention that his character will be confronting each member of the Avengers individually before the film is over. True to his word, this new clip from "The Avengers" gives us a glimpse at one of those aforementioned scenes.

Taking place inside one of the many penthouse suites of Stark Tower, Loki pays Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, a little unexpected visit. His purpose? Probably to discourage him from gathering Earth's mightiest heroes and putting a stop to his evil scheme. After all, Loki is the god of mischief. And what better way to cause mischief than by threatening your enemy in his own home?

Loki is dastardly clever, if nothing else. If he can't immediatedly have what he wants, he will trick his way into getting it through his mastery of lies and deception. With that said, here's a look at how we think Loki's scenes with the other members of the Avengers might play out.

» Captain America

Being unfrozen and awoken in a strange new world, Steve Rogers is already at a disadvantage when it comes to self-confidence. Odds are Loki will play up on that aspect when attempting to stop Cap from teaming up with the other Avengers. Cap feels like he doesn't belong in this world and Loki will almost definitely take advantage of that for his own selfish gain.

» Hulk

Everyone knows that the Hulk is a ticking time-bomb of immense proportions. That's why he was recruited for the Avengers in the first place. Despite Bruce Banner being in control of the jolly green giant for the time being, there's always that chance that he might lose it completely. And that's where Loki comes in. The god of mischief will either try to convince Banner that he has lost control or just make him really really angry.

» Black Widow

What does Natasha Romanoff have that the other Avengers don't? Well, ovaries for starters. Loki will undoubtedly see this as the perfect insecurity to latch onto when trying to deter her from joining the others. On a team full of superpowerful men, Loki will make Black Widow question herself and her abilities. What he might not know, however, is just how much ass Black Widow can kick. (Seriously, just ask Joss Whedon!)

» Hawkeye

Similar to Black Widow, Clint Barton does not have any true superpowers. He's just a normal guy with exceptionally good aim. Loki will point this out to Clint, taking special care to highlight how dangerous it is for a man to fight a god. Let alone an entire army of aliens and a giant worm beast. Few men would jump at the chance to save the world from such a tremendous threat. Perhaps, Clint isn't a part of that select few afterall.

» Thor

A sibling rivalry as old as time; Loki has always hated his "brother" Thor, who is unquestionably better than him in every way. In the scene between Thor and Loki, you can count on two things. One, Loki is going to compare Thor to humans (whom he thinks to be vastly inferior to Asgardians). Two, Thor will not believe a word that Loki says. Growing up with the master of deception would turn anyone into a living lie detector. Plus, Thor knows Loki better than anyone on Earth or Asgard.
