There are a lot of advantages you get from living in a big city, like public transportation, food carts, night life, and an intimate familiarity with rats and cockroaches. Now, there's at least one more thing: a special sneak peek event for "The Amazing Spider-Man" for such lucky citizens of Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Mexico City, Moscow, New York City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Seoul, Sydney and Tokyo.
Sony Pictures is holding a series of as-yet-undefined events promoting the movie, for which you can sign up at TheUntoldStoryBegins.com. The events will be held in one week on February 6, 2012.
You can check out a bunch of promos at SuperHeroHype, where they've tagged a handful of videos for the viral marketing campaign. In the cities where the events are taking place, a red spider slowly fades over a tourist-heavy location, along with a tagline that reads, "On February 6th, TheUntoldStoryBegins.com" (Because nothing says "Spider-Man" like a big LED logo splashed across the Arc de Triomphe or the Sydney Opera House, does it?)
So yes, you're going to have to sign up for something first before any of it makes sense, but if you're lucky enough to be in one of those cities, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. If you live in the Midwest (God forbid) you'll just have to wait until your city matters, in which case, ha ha, good luck! (Just kidding, some of us live in the Midwest and never regret a thing.)
In case you haven't caught up with the rest of our "Amazing Spider-Man" coverage, we posted about the official synopsis of the movie, as well as some stray plot details involving the Lizard. "The Amazing Spider-Man" comes out on July 3, of course.
Will you be attending one of these "Spider-Man" events? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
