'Iron Man 3' Looking To Cast Chinese Superstar Andy Lau

Tony Stark is headed to China in "Iron Man 3," and he's going to have a huge Chinese star to help him get there.

It's become clear that a good portion of Marvel's first post-"The Avengers" movie is going to take place across the Pacific Ocean, especially since Disney is co-producing the flick with Chinese backers. Thus it should come as no surprise that they're trying to get a big Chinese actor on board to help the flick appeal to a wider Asian audience. NeonPunch (via Twitch) is reporting that that man could be Andy Lau.

Apparently Lau is in talks to take a role in the upcoming superhero movie. Rumor has it that he would play a Chinese scientist who is old friends with Tony Stark. When Maya Hansen (potentially Jessica Chastain) and Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) release their Extremis serum to terrorists in an attempt to show off the strength of their chemically enhanced supersoldiers, it will be this Chinese scientist who helps Stark combat them by providing new technology.

"Iron Man 3" is set to start shooting in the United States in May, and will head to China to film later this summer. Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow are all slated to return. The flick is due out May 3, 2013.

Do you think Lau will be a good addition to "Iron Man 3"? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!
