Dwight A Dame To Kill For

At last we know that Robert Rodriguez does actually plan on making "Sin City 2," and in fact, he plans on making it this summer. "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" promises the same stylized look and a few recognizable characters.

One character that certainly isn't recognizable is Clive Owen's character from the second part of "Sin City," "The Big Fat Kill," Dwight McCarthy. He appeared in the series' second installment, "A Dame To Kill For" with an entirely different face. It's only after things go bad that we get to see Dwight in his full-Clive Owen glory.

Here are the actors we think could play the original Dwight in "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For."

Corey Stoll

If Rodriguez is looking to go bald, he's got more than a few worthy candidates. Stoll made a splash last year as the ultimate macho man, Ernest Hemingway, in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" and even earned some awards talk. The guy just looks tough and could easily make the transition into the already stacked "Sin City" ensemble.

Jason Statham

I mean, if we're reaching for the stars, why not go with Statham? Owen's "Killer Elite" costar has owned the world of hairless action stars since Bruce Willis decided to only appear in a few seconds of each movie he does. Statham often gets a bad rap, but the guy started out as a key player in Guy Ritchie's first two independent crime movies, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch."

Jackie Earle Haley

This one's a bit of a stretch, but weirder casting decisions have been made in the world of "Sin City." We know that Dwight looked significantly different before his face changed, and we know that he did look a tiny bit like a completely bald Jackie Earle Haley. The actor's take on Rorschach alone should be enough to qualify him for just about any job working in a super literal comic book adaptation.

Yul Brynner

Admittedly, Yul Brynner died in 1985, but we have to reserve one spot for the man who made bald badass. Hailing all the way from the USSR, Brynner's exoticism would pass for just about any ethnicity you could think of back in old Hollywood. He's also how you'd describe what Dwight looked like before his surgery to someone who hadn't read "A Dame To Kill For." "You know what? He kind of looks like Yul Brynner."

Clive Owen

Don't mess with the original. Owen played Dwight, albeit Dwight with his new face, in the original "Sin City" and did so exceptionally well. He fit right into the world and looked spot on with Miller's drawings from the book. Dwight's original face is what makes casting Owen again problematic, but it's not like Rodriguez has never had to deal with changing an actor's appearance before. Either way, Owen is more than qualified for the job... someone just has to give him a call.
